How to apply a new template to an existing PowerPoint
To convert old slides to use a new template, you need to reassign the existing slides to use the new master. Start by inserting a copy of the new master into the presentation you wish to update.
In the new template:
View > Slide Master
Copy Slide Master (Ctrl + C)
In the old presentation:
View > Slide Master
Paste Slide Master (Ctrl + V)
Open Slidewise
Open Slidewise and navigate to “Slide Masters” using the dropdown at the top of the Slidewise pane.
Right-click on any master and choose “Consolidate Masters”.
Add the old slide master or masters to the ”Reassign slides from” list.
Add the new master template to the “Reassign slides to” list.
Click the “Reassign slides” button.
If the new master is missing any required layouts, you will be asked if you want them to be added or skipped.
Add: Choose this option and any missing layouts will be copied into your new template.
Skip: If you skip, any affected slides will remain connected to your old master, and will need to be reassigned manually afterwards.
Note: you can reassign slides using Slidewise tooCancel: You can also cancel if you want to make further changes before consolidating. Access a full breakdown of the planned changes and missing layouts by clicking the “open the report” link at the top of this dialog.
After consolidating, you may also have one or more original masters left in “Unused masters”. You can simply right-click on these to remove them if you no longer need them.
Fonts
Switching to a new brand template should correctly set Theme fonts and colors, provided they were originally set to use the Theme. However, if some fonts have been set directly, Slidewise can help.
You will be able to see in the “Fonts and Media” tool, a list of all currently used fonts. If there are any fonts that you need to change, use the “Replace fonts” feature by right-clicking on a font or the fonts heading.
Select any fonts you want to change and replace them with the Theme font. If you haven’t configured a Theme font, you can also choose to replace with another available font.
To remove any embedded fonts, simply right-click on the Fonts heading and choose “Unembed Fonts”.

Colors
Colors experience a similar problem to fonts. When colors are set explicitly on an object, they won’t automatically update when you change your Master. Slidewise tracks these colors and makes it simple to update them to use Theme colors instead.
Jump to the “Colors” tool and expand the tree to see if there are any “Non-theme colors” in your presentation.
If there are, then right-click on a color or heading to use the “Replace Colors” tool.
Using this, you can replace all Non-theme colors with Theme colors in seconds. You can also choose to change colors to other non-theme colors if you so wish.
